A family jewellers of almost 50 years
Alicia’s grandfather and Alan’s father first opened his jewellery shop – J J Dean Jewellers – in Ossett, West Yorkshire, in 1973. Following Joe Dean’s tradition, Alicia Mai prides itself on the values of a family business – service, quality and value, and is a member of the National Association of Jewellers.
The family business is now run by Alan Dean, with over 40 years experience
Alan has worked in the jewellery business since 1977, starting in his father’s business in Ossett. He then travelled the world as a jewellery and diamond buyer, sourcing collections from major trade exhibitions across the world.
Alan is a Fellow of both the Gemmological Association and of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He also holds a Diploma in Jewellery from the CFH in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Our diamonds are selected from the Antwerp Diamond Bourse
Alan has an Associate Office in the Diamond Bourse in Antwerp, where he selects Alicia Mai’s diamonds. We select diamonds that are independently GIA certified as excellent in symmetry, proportions and polish, to ensure your ring has optimum sparkle and fire.
